
Bryan Bellefeuille
Wabi Maskwa
Bryan Bellefeuille (Wabi Maskwa, Waabizheshi doodem) is a firekeeper, a traditional dancer, a Lake Nipissing fisherman, and a loving partner and father of three. He has Mathematics and Education degrees from Nipissing University. In 2022, Bryan was appointed as an adjunct professor to his Alma Mater as part of the Arts & Science Faculty. Currently, he works full time at WC Eaket Secondary School in Blind River as an Anishinaabemowin language teacher. Bryan is committed to research in Anishinaabe mathematics and implementation of teaching principles of Indigenous STEM in the classroom. He focuses his efforts in multiple facets to ensure the success of the Anishinaabe STEM and prioritizes classroom teaching, curriculum development and training.

Laura Mayer
Niigwamkwat
Laura Mayer (Niigwaamkwad, Mshike dodem, Mississauga First Nation) is an avid sewist, political nerd, a traditional dancer, a loving partner, and a mother of three. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gender Equality & Social Justice from Nipissing University and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, she was concerned with the principles of Anishinaabe law and enrolled in courses that examined the practice of chronicling Indigenous legal traditions. This work has continued from classroom to community--after graduating Laura worked for her home community of Mississauga First Nation for 6 years founding the Chi-Naaknigewin department and considering how to navigate the implementation of Anishinaabe Constitutions. Laura currently serves as the Senior Political Advisor for the Anishinabek Nation Political Office, and while she advises on most issues affecting the nation, she is heavily involved in projects in anishinaabe law, governance, citizenship, and enforcement.
